DeGrazia from Thunder Bay strikes again at MJT’s Carman stop
For Immediate Release - Carman, MB. – (July 8, 2011) – A mix of Ontario and Manitoba junior golfers took to the links on July 6th and 7th at the Carman Golf Club in Carman for the third event in the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s Manitoba Series, where Evan DeGrazia of Thunder Bay, Ontario, was the low finisher in the two-day tournament.
DeGrazia, 16, fired 74+73=147 to strike victory again after his win back in April at the MJT’s East St. Paul stop, taking home low overall honours out of all four divisions plus his title in the Boy’s 14-16 year old division. As the ‘Road to College Golf’, every MJT event features an international qualifier and with this win DeGrazia earns himself entry into the Texas Junior Golf Tour’s Holiday Classic at Barton Creek Resort in Austin, Texas – an event attended by many college coaches which should provide him with excellent scouting exposure.
Rounding out the Boys 16-16 division was Travis Fredborg, 15, of Selkirk, MB, who finished second (81+76=157) and in third place only one shot behind that was Stacy Genaille, 14, of Pelican Rapids, MB, (82+76=158).
