About the Tour: The non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) is Canada's most-played major junior golf tour and is run exclusively by PGA of Canada Golf Professionals. The MJT is proud to play a role in developing young players, including several Canadian National Champions, many Future Links and Provincial Champions, as well as numerous graduates that have gone on to successful Professional golf careers. The MJT is also focused on providing opportunities for young Canadians to learn how to golf, introduces players as young as four years old to the game via free instructional clinics, and helps out alumni as they progress from junior to professional golfer with our Professional Development Fund. In addition, the MJT encourages young players to further their education with scholarship awards and offers advice on admissions, scholarship opportunities and post-secondary exposure. The MJT has become the ‘Road to College Golf’ in Canada! For more information, please explore this website or call 1-877-859-GOLF.
The non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour is Canada’s #1 played junior golf tour and is run exclusively by PGA of Canada Professionals. The Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour, formerly the Western Canada Junior Golf Tour, expanded from an original base in British Columbia in 1999 to include the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes. The MJT is proud to play a role in developing young players, including several Canadian National Junior Champions such as Kevin Klebe, Mike Mezei, Darren Wallace (Cdn Men’s Amateur), Mitchell Fox, Eom-Ji Park, Inah Park, Nick Taylor, Soo Bin Kim, Eugene Wong, Adam Svensson, Adam Hadwin, and many, many Future Links and Provincial Junior Champions. The MJT also provides opportunities for young Canadians to learn how to golf and introduces players as young as four years old to the game via free instructional clinics. In addition, the MJT encourages young players to further their education with scholarship monies, as well as providing letters of recommendation, aid in recruitment and other support services for the procurement of college scholarships. All MJT Tournament Directors are qualified PGA of Canada Professionals who instruct golf and run tournaments, building golf skills and teaching sportsmanship and etiquette, fostering the meeting of new people and having fun. The MJT is proud to offer the best value to parents and junior golfers with the least expensive entry fees for a major junior tour across Canada, as well as being the only one with favourable refund and payment policies, free clinics and significant subsidy of international competition, reducing the cost burden for juniors where possible.
PGA of Canada Professionals: Murray Poje, Dave Smallwood, Mike Skimson, Garth Goodbrandson, Ed Boge, Trent Matson, Jeff Chambers, Neil Bidewell, Louis Melanson and Marc Robichaud. The program offers a schedule of professionally run tournaments, free instructional clinics and affiliation with instructional academies with the objective to improve golf skills, help build golfing resumes, learn sportsmanship and etiquette, and develop - from an early age - a lifelong enjoyment of the game.
Free instructional clinics; one, two and three day events; affiliated instructional academies. Tournaments are ranked by the Junior Golf Scoreboard (U.S.A.) as well as on the MJT Cleveland Golf Order of Merit, Golfweek, AJGA (American Junior Golf Association) and, at various levels, by Golf Canada and the BC, Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan Golf Associations. The MJT has recently become the Official Junior Golf Tour of the Saskatchewan Golf Association’s Order of Merit.
